Can I make the logo optional for the buyer?

Short answer: Yes, by checking “This logo is optional for the buyer”. But the product must already have a fixed logo before it can have an (extra) optional one.

How to do it

In the product configuration, check “This logo is optional for the buyer”. The buyer can then decide whether to take it or not.

The most common case

A fixed logo on the heart placement, which everyone gets, and an optional logo on the back placement — often bigger, and therefore more expensive — that the buyer takes or leaves.
Everyone then goes home with the heart marking, and those who want the back one add it, paying that extra only if they chose it.
The product must already carry a fixed logo: that is the one that sets the price shown for the product. Until there is one, the configuration is refused.
Not to be confused with the choice of logo
Optional logo — the buyer decides whether to take this marking or not.
Choice of logo — the marking happens either way; the buyer only decides which of your logos goes on it. See Can I offer the buyer a choice between several logos.
These are two distinct settings, each with its own checkbox.
