By default, when you create a shop on DAGOBA, it is hosted on a subdomain of dagoba.shop — for example my-club.dagoba.shop. It's simple, free and functional from the start. But if you want to take your organisation's image further, DAGOBA also lets you use your own domain name, still completely free of charge.
In practice, instead of sharing a dagoba.shop link with your members, you give them an address that carries your club's name: shop.my-sports-club.com, store.my-association.org or any other domain you own.
Why use your own domain?
The dagoba.shop address works perfectly well and many clubs are happy with it. But a custom domain brings a few concrete advantages:
Consistency with your online presence. If your club already has a website at my-club.com, a shop accessible at shop.my-club.com fits naturally into the continuity. Your members and visitors stay in your universe.
A more professional image. Your own domain strengthens your organisation's credibility. It's a signal of seriousness to families, partners and sponsors.
Easier to remember and share. A short, familiar address is simpler to print on a flyer, dictate over the phone or share in a WhatsApp group.

How to set it up
The configuration is simple and takes two steps:
On your domain side: you create a CNAME DNS record that points your subdomain (for example shop) to DAGOBA's servers. If these terms are unfamiliar, your hosting provider or the person who manages your website can do it in a few minutes.
On DAGOBA's side: in your dashboard, you enter the custom shop address. DAGOBA automatically generates a free SSL certificate so the shop is accessible via https — secure connection, green padlock in the browser, trust for your buyers.
That's it. There's nothing to pay, nothing to renew manually. The SSL certificate renews automatically and the shop works exactly the same way as on the dagoba.shop domain — same features, same performance, same service.
When to choose what?
If you're just getting started and want to move fast, the dagoba.shop address is perfect. It's available immediately, with no technical configuration required.
If your club already owns a domain name and a website, switching to your own domain is a natural choice that strengthens the consistency of your online communication. And since it's free, there's no reason not to.
