Can I have several shops?

Short answer: Yes, as many as you need, and they all draw from the same selection of products. Each one then has its own collections, its own prices and its own address.

What it makes possible

A second shop is useful when an audience really needs to be addressed on its own: a section, a team, an event, a season, your volunteers. It has its address, its collections and its message, and nothing there competes with what you want to put forward.
Each shop decides what it presents, and at what price:
  • Different products. A shop does not have to carry the same ones as the others. A shop reserved for volunteers can hold nothing but a fleece and a bag, where the public shop presents the whole range.
  • Different prices for the same products. The margin is set product by product, inside each shop. So the same t-shirt can be offered at one price on the public shop and at another on a reserved one.
The products stay common: the selection is your reserve, and all your shops draw from it. A product chosen once can be dropped into several shops without going back through the catalog. See Catalog, selection, collection: what is the difference.

Three ways to create one

  • “New empty shop” — a tile marked with a + in your list of shops. You start from nothing and fill it yourself.
  • “New demo shop” — the tile next to it, also marked with a +. The system builds the shop with a standard assortment, and you then change whatever does not suit you.
  • Duplicating an existing shop — the grey button in the action bar, with the two overlapping sheets icon; its tooltip reads “Duplicate the whole shop”. That is the quickest route to a variant.
One more shop is one more shop to keep up
Each one has its products to update, its logos to keep valid and its own audience to keep alive. Two shops half looked after are worth less than one kept properly.
Only open a second one if you have enough to fill it and someone to talk about it.
