How do I delete a logo?
Short answer: Open the logo's detail sheet in “My logos” and click “Delete”. If the logo is used on products or in a shop's header, choose the logo that replaces it: it takes its place everywhere, then the logo is deleted.
Steps
- On the “Shops” page, open the “My logos” tab in the left-hand panel.
- Click the thumbnail of the logo you want to delete: its detail sheet opens on the right. If it is placed on products, the sheet lists them under “Here are the products where this logo is currently used”.
- On the detail sheet, click the red “Delete” button. It does not show while the sheet has unsaved changes: click “Save” or “Cancel” first.
- A “Delete the logo: …” window opens, and what comes next depends on how the logo is used:
- a logo used nowhere: the window asks “Are you sure that you want to delete this logo?”. Confirm: the message “The logo has been successfully deleted.” appears;
- a logo in use — placed on at least one product, or the header logo of a shop: the window says, if it is placed on products, on how many products and shops it is used, and shows the logos that can replace it as thumbnails. Click the thumbnail of the logo that should take its place, then “Replace and delete”. If the selected shop has pending unsaved changes — a draft just created and not saved yet counts too —, “Replace and delete” stays grayed out and the window says “Save or cancel your shop's pending changes first: deleting the logo updates your products.” The message “The logo "…" has been deleted and replaced by "…".” confirms it.
Which logos can replace it
Only your approved logos of the same marking technique are offered:
- a mug logo never replaces a textile logo, and vice versa; an embroidery logo can only be replaced by another embroidery logo;
- a logo whose detail sheet shows “File must be validated by DAGOBA before use” or “File of insufficient quality for textile printing” is not offered.
If there is none, the window says so — “No other approved logo of the same technique can replace it. Upload or get another logo approved first.” — and does not offer to delete. Upload the logo that will take its place first (see How do I upload my logo), then come back and delete the old one once the new one is approved.
What changes in your shops
- In every shop of your account, drafts included, each product that carried the logo now carries the chosen logo, in the same placement.
- The size follows: a product on the Standard version gets the chosen logo's Standard version, a product on Junior its Junior version. If the chosen logo has no version with that name, its version with the same dimensions is used, and failing that its closest version in size. With DTF printing, the price of the marking depends on the version's area: if the chosen logo's version is larger or smaller, the product's price changes accordingly — see Why does the price change when I modify the logo dimensions.
- If some placements had to take the closest version in size, the confirmation message says so and how many, for instance: “The logo "…" has been deleted and replaced by "…". 2 placements took the closest size: check the logo sizes and marking prices of your products.” This message stays on screen until you close it or click elsewhere. On the changed products, marked with an orange background, check the logo version and the price, and pick another version if needed — see How do I select the logo size on a product.
- On a product that lets the buyer choose between several logos, if the chosen logo was already offered there, the deleted logo simply drops out of the choice.
- If the deleted logo was the header logo of a shop, the window points it out — “It is also the header logo of your shop: the chosen logo will replace it there too.” — and the chosen logo takes that place as well.
- Orders already placed do not change: they keep the logo they were ordered with.
Putting the change online
In the dashboard, your shops show the chosen logo straight away. The website of a live shop, however, keeps the old logo until the logo changes are next put into service: the shop shows an orange banner, and the changed products are marked with an orange background.
- On the “Shops” page, select the shop concerned.
- Click the orange “Modify the shop (create a draft)” button.
- Click the blue button with two checkmarks: its tooltip reads “Put the logo changes into the current shop”.
If a draft of that shop already existed, that is what opens at step 2: the logo change is already in it, and it goes online when you put that draft into service. To check how it looks on a draft before your buyers see it, see I changed my logo but the shop products do not show it.
Going further
- I have received my real logo, how do I replace it — to change only a logo's file, without deleting the logo.
- How do I change a logo on every product of the shop — the two ways to change a logo on all your products, and which one to choose.
You'll know it worked when: The logo is gone from “My logos” and, if it was in use, the products that carried it show the logo chosen to replace it in the dashboard.
