I cannot change my shop logo?
Short answer: Drag and drop only works on a draft: on a live shop, dragging a logo thumbnail merely reorders your list of logos.
Cause
The shop logo is changed by dragging a thumbnail from the “My logos” tab onto the logo box, to the left of the shop name. That box only accepts a logo on a draft.
On a live shop the thumbnails are no longer handles towards the shop: all they do is reorder your list of logos. That is what makes the failure so puzzling — the thumbnail does move under the mouse, so the gesture looks as though it worked, but nothing reaches the shop.
Solution
- In the menu, open the “Shops” page, then select your shop in the left-hand panel.
- Click the orange “Modify the shop (create a draft)” button. The system creates a working copy — the draft — and that is what accepts the new logo. If a draft already exists, open it instead of creating one.
- In the left-hand panel, click the “My logos” tab (next to “My products”).
- Hold the mouse button down on the thumbnail of the logo you want and drag it to the logo box, to the left of the shop name. When you are properly on the box, a thin green outline appears around it: release at that moment.
- Click “Put this draft shop into service” (blue button with two checkmarks) so the new logo becomes visible on the live shop.
You do not have to remove anything first
The box has no “empty it” button. Simply drop the new logo on top of the old one: it takes its place. A shop must in any case always have a logo — while the box is empty it is outlined in red and the draft cannot be put into service.
The other possible reasons
| What happens | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The logo's detail sheet opens instead of the logo moving | A click on a thumbnail opens the logo's detail sheet; only a drag moves it | Hold the button down and move the mouse a few millimeters before aiming at the box |
| The drag never starts and the cursor shows a crossed circle | That logo is a “Marking: Sublimation on Mug” or a “Marking: Embroidery” logo — neither technique can serve as a shop logo | Use a “Technique: DTF printing” logo |
| The logo snaps back when you release | The release point was next to the box, not on it | Aim until the green outline appears around the box, then release |
| The live shop still shows the old logo | The draft was not put into service | See I changed my logo but the shop products do not show it |
Two different things are called “changing the logo”
Putting a different logo in the header box, which is the operation described here — and replacing the file inside an existing logo, when your graphic designer finally sends you the right version. The second is done on the logo's detail sheet and updates every product using it at once: see I have received my real logo, how do I replace it.
