How do I cancel a coupon or a gift card?
Short answer: Open the row in the money pot list: a coupon that is still usable offers Cancel, a gift card offers Delete as long as the window shown on its record has not passed.
Steps
- On the Money Pot page, set the Coupons filter to Coupons only.
- Click the row concerned to open its record.
- In the Actions section, click Cancel for a coupon, or Delete for a gift card.
- Confirm.
You'll know it worked when: The row moves to the canceled status, and the money pot balance is credited back if it was a gift card.
What is possible, and when
| Coupon | Gift card | |
|---|---|---|
| While unused | Can be cancelled | Can be deleted during the window shown on the record, as "Can be deleted until …" |
| Once used | Nothing more to do | Nothing more to do |
| Effect on the money pot | Nothing to credit back, the coupon had not been debited | The amount returns to the money pot |
Making a canceled row disappear
A canceled row stays visible in the list. Erase all traces, offered on a canceled coupon's record, removes it for good. It is meant for issuing mistakes, and it cannot be undone.
