How do I change my password?
Short answer: Under the heading You can change your password, type the new password twice, add your Current password, then click Save.
Steps
- Open your avatar menu, top right, then My account.
- Under the heading You can change your password, type the new password in New password: eight characters minimum.
- Repeat it exactly in Password confirmation.
- Type your Current password in the last field.
- Click Save.
You'll know it worked when: The message “Your account has been updated successfully” appears, and the new password logs you in next time.
The eye shows what you type
The icon at the end of the field shows the password in clear text, long enough to check what you typed.
Your other devices are logged out
As with the email address, changing your password closes the sessions you have open elsewhere. You stay logged in here, and the new password is what works everywhere else.
If saving is refused
- “Passwords don't match” — the first two fields differ.
- “Password must be at least 8 characters long”.
- “Please enter your current password to confirm your changes” — the last field is empty.
None of these three saves anything: fix it and click Save again.
