How do I choose the colors of a product?

Short answer: Three colors maximum per product, chosen on its detail sheet in the catalog. Their order is then set in the product configuration: the first one is the color shown by default on the shop, before it rotates to show the others.

Choosing the colors

In the catalog, click on the product: its detail sheet opens on the color already shown.
Click on the colors you want to offer. You can add two more to the one already there, so three in total.
Add the product to your selection.

To change the colors of a product already selected, open its detail sheet again from the selection — using the small (i) icon at the top left of the thumbnail.

Past three, the oldest one is replaced

The limit is not announced by any message: if three colors are already kept and you click a fourth one, the color chosen first is dropped and replaced by the new one.

This is not a mistake on your part, and nothing is lost — but if a color seems to have disappeared on its own, that is what happened. Check the three colors kept before saving.

Why only three

This is not a technical limit, it is an observation: DAGOBA has seen it across hundreds of shops — those offering the fewest colors per product are the ones that perform best.

Three is therefore a ceiling, not a target. Two colors per product is ideal, plus optionally one neutral color: black, gray or white.

A readable shop beats an exhaustive one: faced with too much choice, the buyer hesitates instead of choosing.

The order of the colors

The order is set in the product configuration, once the product has been dropped into a collection: click on the product in the collection.

The first color is the one presented first on the shop.
The others then rotate automatically, so that the visitor sees them all.
You can also remove a color from there.
