How do I hand the account over to someone else?

Short answer: Give the Owner role to the other person, wait until they have activated their access, then remove yours.

Steps

  1. If the person is not an administrator yet, invite them with the Owner role. If they already are, open their profile, tick Owner and click Save roles.
  2. Wait until they open the link they received by email: their status moves from Pending to Active.
  3. Then open your own profile, and untick Owner if you are staying on the account, or click Revoke access if you are leaving it.
You'll know it worked when: The other person shows as Active with the Owner chip, and your own role can then be changed or removed.
Do not reverse the order. As long as the new person has not activated their access, they do not count as an active owner, and your own role cannot be taken away from you.

Nothing else changes

The shops, the contacts, the orders and the money pot belong to the account, not to you: they stay in place and the new owner finds them exactly as they were.

You can stay

Handing over the owner role does not force you to leave. You can keep a narrower access — the Shops role alone, for instance — by simply unticking Owner.
