How do I make sales bring money to my organization?
Short answer: In the shop editor, pick Shop with product margins, accept the terms, then set a margin product by product. On every sale, the margin is credited to your money pot.
Steps
- On the “Shops” page, open a draft of the shop — a live shop cannot be edited directly (orange button “Modify the shop (create a draft)”).
- Scroll below the collections to the two choice boxes: Standard shop and Shop with product margins.
- Tick the radio button on Shop with product margins.
- Click details to unfold the terms, read them, then tick I accept with these terms.
- Click Save. The shop type takes effect straight away, with no putting into service.
- Open the configuration of each product that should carry a margin: the E-shop markup menu is now offered at the bottom of the window.
- Once your margins are set, put the draft into service so the live shop applies them.
You'll know it worked when: The shop shows "Terms accepted on …" and an E-shop markup menu appears at the bottom of each product's configuration.
The two shop types
| Standard shop | Shop with margins | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free | Free, with transaction fees on the margins collected |
| What a sale brings your organization | Nothing | The margin you set on the item, less the fees |
| Switching | You move from one to the other whenever you want |
Until the terms are accepted, the message "You must accept the terms of the shop with margins to be able to activate it" appears and the shop type does not change.
Putting into service is not a condition for setting margins. As soon as the draft is saved, the E-shop markup menu is available on every product. Putting the draft into service is what publishes the result: until you do, the live shop still offers its products without margins.
Accepting these terms also starts the opening of your money pot, which is activated by DAGOBA.
