What do "excl. VAT" and "incl. VAT" mean on my money pot?

Short answer: Money pot amounts are VAT-inclusive: they contain VAT. As long as your organization is not subject to VAT, each balance box breaks this down as "X excl. VAT + Y VAT".

Why VAT shows up

The margin you set on a product is VAT-inclusive: the buyer pays it along with the item, VAT included. So the pot receives an amount that contains a share of VAT, at the rate in force.

Where it makes a difference

What you do with it What you get
Coupon, gift card, equipment order The whole VAT-inclusive amount.
Bank withdrawal The VAT-inclusive amount if your organization is subject to VAT and has declared it; otherwise the VAT-excluded part only, the VAT being returned to the State by DAGOBA.
Your organization's VAT status is set on the My organisation page, in the Subject to VAT field. The withdrawal page shows the calculation before you confirm.
