What do "excl. VAT" and "incl. VAT" mean on my money pot?
Short answer: Money pot amounts are VAT-inclusive: they contain VAT. As long as your organization is not subject to VAT, each balance box breaks this down as "X excl. VAT + Y VAT".
Why VAT shows up
The margin you set on a product is VAT-inclusive: the buyer pays it along with the item, VAT included. So the pot receives an amount that contains a share of VAT, at the rate in force.
Where it makes a difference
| What you do with it | What you get |
|---|---|
| Coupon, gift card, equipment order | The whole VAT-inclusive amount. |
| Bank withdrawal | The VAT-inclusive amount if your organization is subject to VAT and has declared it; otherwise the VAT-excluded part only, the VAT being returned to the State by DAGOBA. |
Your organization's VAT status is set on the My organisation page, in the Subject to VAT field. The withdrawal page shows the calculation before you confirm.
