What happens if I untick “Subject to VAT”?
Short answer: The VAT number is cleared straight away. A money pot withdrawal by bank transfer will then only cover the amount excluding VAT, the VAT being paid to the state by DAGOBA.
What happens straight away
The box clears, the VAT number field disappears and the number it held is erased. To put it back you have to tick the box again and type the number once more; it will be re-checked.
What it changes on a withdrawal
| Bank transfer out of the money pot | |
|---|---|
| VAT-registered, number on file | The amount including VAT |
| Not VAT-registered | The amount excluding VAT only |
The other ways of using the money pot — coupon, gift card, ordering equipment — give access to the full amount including VAT in both cases.
Many organizations are not VAT-registered
That is the common case, and it is not a problem: an unticked box is a valid answer. It only changes the amount we can transfer.
