Where do my contacts come from?
Short answer: From three places: orders placed on your shops, which create the contact automatically; a file you import; and adding one by hand. Only the last two are up to you.
The three origins

| An order on one of your shops | The buyer becomes a contact, with their email and their order. Nothing to type in. |
| A file you import | The Import button creates the contacts from your file. |
| Adding one by hand | The New contact button creates a profile, which you then complete. |
The delay after an order
Orders and their buyers come down from the shop to the dashboard every ten minutes. An order paid just now therefore takes up to ten minutes to make its buyer appear in your contacts.
Contacts that came from orders keep updating on their own: a new order is added to their profile without you having to do anything.
