How do I find or filter my contacts?
Short answer: The search box finds a person by name, email or mobile. Filters, on the other hand, select a group: by Tags or by Emails received.
Steps
- To find one particular person, type their name, email address or mobile in Search contacts....
- To select a group, click Add a filter.
- The panel opens on "Select contacts that have". Choose the Tags section or the Emails section.
- Set the criterion, then click Apply.
You'll know it worked when: The list only shows the matching contacts, and each filter applied is displayed as a pill above it.
The criteria available
| Section | Choice | What it gives |
|---|---|---|
| Tags | One of | Contacts carrying at least one of the ticked tags. |
| Tags | All | Those carrying all of them. |
| Tags | None | Those carrying none of them. |
| Emails | Has been sent these emails | Those the chosen sends were addressed to. |
| Emails | Has not been sent these emails | Those who were left out of them. |
Combining and clearing
Each filter you add narrows the list a little further: they stack. One pill per filter shows above the list; click it to change it, or use Clear all filters to start over.
