What does each role give?
Short answer: Every administrator sees the contacts, the tags and the orders. Three roles each open one more area — Shops, Money pot, Promotions — and Owner gives everything.
The basic functions
Everyone has them, with nothing ticked. The roles window says so: “All admins have access to the basic functions: contacts (and their tagging) and past orders.”
What each role adds

Roles add up: one person can hold Shops and Promotions without being an owner.
Owner takes everything
When you tick Owner, the other three boxes tick themselves and lock: they no longer mean anything, since that role already grants the access. Untick Owner to pick them one by one again.
The Money pot role only appears if the money pot is open for your account.
