What happens if I delete a tag?
Short answer: The tag disappears from every contact carrying it. The contacts themselves are untouched: none is deleted, no order is lost.
How to delete one
Open the Tags section, click the tag's row, then the bin icon in the right-hand panel. A confirmation asks "Delete this tag?".
What the deletion takes with it

The deletion cannot be undone: to go back you have to recreate the tag and put it on the right contacts again. If you are hesitating, rename it rather than delete it.
