What is the Orders page for?
Short answer: The Orders page gathers every order placed on your shops: the customer, the date, the products, the amount and how far along the delivery is. It is there to be read, with one exception: settling or declining an order sent to your organization.
What the list gives you
Each row carries the order number, its date and the customer's name, then its Status, its number of products (Items) and its Amount. The figure beside the Orders title counts the orders on show, and a Total adds them up at the bottom of the list.
Clicking a row opens the order's details in a panel: the buyer, the products with the marking texts they asked for, the parcel tracking and the history.
What can be changed here, and what cannot
An order is born on the shop, the moment a buyer confirms it. The dashboard receives a copy: there is no add button, no editing of the contents, no deleting.
The single exception is an order a buyer has sent to you for payment instead of paying for it. That one is waiting for a decision from you, and you take it from the order's details.
The two red banners
When an order has stopped, a red banner appears at the top of the list and a red badge appears on the Orders menu entry:
- orders waiting for funds — a coupon has been used that the money pot does not cover;
- orders sent for payment — each line carries the order number, the buyer and the amount, and the number leads to the details where you settle or decline.
Those banners and badges are visible only to admins holding the Money pot role.
What it is for day to day
- Answering someone who asks where their order has got to.
- Finding what a buyer ordered, along with the texts they asked for on their products.
- Handling the orders your members have sent you for payment.
- Seeing the shop's activity: the number of orders at the top of the page, the total at the bottom.
